Blackmagic Unveils PYXIS Monitor for Enhanced Camera Control

Blackmagic Design has unveiled the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor, a versatile 5″ HDR touchscreen monitor with full camera control for the Blackmagic PYXIS camera.

This new cinematic monitoring solution offers an additional monitoring and camera control option that can be mounted almost anywhere, making it perfect for use when rigging or when accessories block the Blackmagic PYXIS' internal display.

• The Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor features a large 5″ LCD touchscreen, making it ideal for use as a viewfinder or assist station for easier focusing and framing.

• The monitor boasts a bright 1500 nit high brightness screen, ensuring easy monitoring even in bright sunlight.

• It connects to the camera using a single USB-C cable, providing video, power, and camera control from a single connection.

• The HDR touchscreen allows users to control all of the camera's features, access menus and settings, and even enter digital slate information.

• Multiple mounting options are available, including precision mounts designed specifically for Blackmagic PYXIS and URSA Cine cameras.

We checked with Blackmagic on compatibility: besides the PYXIS, the monitor will also work with the URSA Cine 12K camera. It will not work with older camera models, like the Pocket Cinema Cameras.
