disguise, in collaboration with Volinga.ai (which we've covered previously), has launched a new feature enabling creators to quickly create 3D environments from 2D images. By simply scanning an environment with your smartphone, you can quickly capture real-world content and translate it into an immersive virtual production set.

• The tool leverages RenderStream™, a bi-directional protocol, to convert phone-captured footage into interactive, virtual scenes on set, accelerating the process of creating 3D environments.

• By using the disguise RenderStream™ plugin for Volinga, you can customize aspects like the weather or atmosphere in your captured scenes without starting from scratch.

• The pipeline utilizes NeRFs (Neural Radiance Fields), a breakthrough AI tech, which turns 2D images into 3D scenes, eliminating complicated photogrammetry and extensive 3D asset creation.

• Unique to the Volinga Suite pipeline is its capacity to create 3D environments with full parallax effects, giving cinematographers unrestrained movement within the virtual production set.

• Volinga Co-founder, Fernando Rivas-Manzaneque, has highlighted this as a significant development in virtual production. "disguise and Volinga users can easily create and navigate 3D environments for virtual production, dramatically reducing the time and effort required in creating 3D environments."

  More than 700 beta users have reported a significant decrease in the time and budget required to produce realistic environments.
