Canon's New Mirrorless Cameras: R1 and R5 II

Canon has introduced two new professional full-frame mirrorless cameras, the EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II, designed for still photographers and video creators across various fields.

Behind the Scenes

  • The EOS R1 features a 24.2 megapixel sensor, 40fps still-image shooting, and strong video capabilities up to 6K RAW.

  • The EOS R5 Mark II boasts a 45 megapixel sensor, advanced AF system with Eye Control AF, and Cinema EOS video features like Canon Log 2 and False Color Wave Form Monitor.

  • Both cameras use the new DIGIC Accelerator alongside the DIGIC X processor, enabling the next-gen Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system for improved tracking.

  • Optional battery grips for the EOS R5 Mark II include the BG-R20 for vertical operability, BG-R20EP with Ethernet, and CF-R20EP with a cooling fan and Ethernet.
